In Katie Couric’s new memoir, the former news anchor addresses her associations with three problematic men she got to know during her long TV career, and who have since been accused of various degrees of despicable, sexually predatory behavior. ![]()

It was first published as a book in February 1915, though it also appeared in the Strand Magazine between September 1914 to May 1915. The Valley of Fear is the fourth and last novel in the Sherlock Holmes series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. So, here’s my review of the last novel of the series (which makes me sad): Introduction & Plot Summary ![]() I was already a fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle when I read the first instalment of the Sherlock Holmes series of novels, and by the time I completed the fourth, I was in complete awe of the mystery writer. ![]() After completing The Valley of Fear, the last in the famous Sherlock Holmes novels, I admit that there’re few things in life as engaging as reading the detective tear through the darkness of suspense. ![]() ![]() However, now I can simply answer, “whatever Sir Arthur wrote was a good story!”, a great story, in fact. About a year ago, if someone would’ve asked me what makes a good story, I would talk in detail on the subject. ![]() ![]() ![]() This had a deep effect on the twins who became silent after this savage act. Not only because I’ve been a fan of the Japanese-British author since college, but also his recognition on such a global platform reaffirmed a worldview that needs to be remembered now more than ever.īut I was mystified when, amid the jubilant responses to the Nobel Prize committee’s decision to award Ishiguro, some began openly fretting over the author’s commitment to addressing matters of identity. Waking up to the New York Times alert about Kazuo Ishiguro’s Nobel Prize win was one of the few truly joyous occasions of 2017. In our new dystopian reality, we rarely get to celebrate good news. Other than that, great content, and really fun and engaging writing style. The electron spin singlet state falls out of some nice derivation but doesn’t even get called entangled until much later the EPR paradox and the Bohm inequality are in the afterword. The only aspect I would have loved to see more discussion of is quantum entanglement. ![]() First part is theory, second part has lots of approximations and techniques like perturbation theory.
